Scott Watson is a veteran instrumental music educator, award-winning composer, and in-demand music education technology specialist. Dr. Watson has taught instrumental and elective music in the Parkland School District (Allentown, PA) for 25 years. Watson began as director of bands at Parkland High School, and later moved to coordinate and teach in the elementary instrumental program which encompasses 6 full-time staff teaching almost 900 band and strings students in 8 buildings. In addition, Watson is an award-winning and frequently commissioned composer. His music for band and orchestra is published by Alfred (for whom he is an exclusive composer for the Challenger Series), Barnhouse, and Wingert-Jones, among others. Finally, Watson is a frequent technology topic presenter for music conferences, school district training/workshops, and the author of the book USING TECHNOLOGY TO UNLOCK MUSICAL CREATIVITY (Oxford University Press). He holds his B.S. Music Ed from West Chester University (Pennsylvania), and his M.M. and D.M.A. from Temple University (Philadelphia) and serves as adjunct instructor for Villanova, Philadelphia Biblical, and Central Connecticut State universities.
